Three 6 mafias DJ Paul clarifies a few things after his now-viral response to missing Gangsta Boo‘s funeral, but tells TMZ Hip Hop he was still on the front lines when it mattered most.
In a statement, the Oscar-winning rapper confirmed his absence, but admitted to paying the bill.
He says, “The fact that I had to address even negative things that were said behind the scenes is really annoying. I spearheaded the planning and paid for most of Boo’s funeral. Others reached out to help as their way of showing Boo love was only right to include them since we all loved Boo.

We hear others like Juicy J, 8Ball & MJGand other relatives have all chipped for the services and Paul wants the whole ordeal to be water under the bridge.
He concludes: “I’ve stated before why I wasn’t at the funeral and this is exactly why, because I don’t think drawing attention is appropriate. Boo and my relationship was ours alone, she knew (and knows) where my heart was I don’t have to explain that to anyone.’
Paul released his fiery Instagram response to fans around 4 a.m. on Sunday morning, Paul explaining how his presence at funerals unfairly attracts groupies and freeloaders.

Paul also delved further into the trolls with a history lesson…revealing that he discovered Gangsta Boo as a teenager and oversaw all of her top records.
The funeral still had a huge turnout — hundreds of mourners, including fellow performers Drumma Boy, La Chat and GloRilla, Hit boy, Memphitz and Glitter Shine belonged to the filled Brown Missionary Baptist Church in Southaven, MS to pay their respects.
