Seth Rogen took the stage at the Critics Choice Awards to present the Best Comedy Series winner. However, the comedic actor had some notes for the ceremony organizers and fired up the CW, the network that aired the event.
Rogen said it was his first time at the Critics Choice Awards and wondered if they “always give out two awards at once”. The actor referred to the supporting role/actress category and had a bone to pick with the network.
“That was weird,” he remarked. “Why are they doing that? Are we tight on time? Get another hour! It can’t be that expensive. Do you know how I know? This show airs at 4 p.m. on the CW. That can’t be pricey… time slot, as far as I know how this all works.”
Rogen continued to toast the network, noting that they had no nominations at the event, adding, “I’m not saying the CW is bad. What I will say, it’s the only network to receive zero Critics Choice nominations – you say it’s bad. We’re on your least favorite network. How did that happen? Name yourself next time and you would have won. No one will think it’s weird, they’ll be fine with it.”
The Fables star ended his tirade by saying, “If you’re a regular viewer of the CW, this is a surprising image to see on your television right now. I might be the first Jew on the CW in history. Enjoy it.”
